Only another photo nerd like myself might appreciate this but I can now take raw (DNG) pictures on my NEXUS 6. Of course it will never take the place of my DSLR but I always have my phone with me so this could potentially let me save and enhance all those happy snaps I take of my kids. Below is my daughter on a bright sunny day talking to the fish painted on the park bench. This is the JPG image my cell phone takes by default. Cute but her very adorable and bright hand-made sweatshirt looks awful. It is overlay saturated and the detail is lost. The white balance is also a bit cool and her right hand is very overexposed. Now before I took this, I set my camera to save DNG alongside JPG. I brought that file into Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop and after some adjustments, that sweater looks as cute and detailed as in person. I use Camera FV-5 to take my pictures and you have to enable the saving of DNG. Also, while I have a ton of storage on my phone, the DNG files are large and must be cleaned off the phone regularly!
